People Partner

Role Description

35 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

£19.36 – £25.49 per hour + holiday pay depending on experience

Week on week ongoing for around 3 months (with the potential to move to a FTC depending on performance)

Our client is looking for an experienced people partner to provide a comprehensive, high-quality people service across all areas of their business.

You will work closely with managers and senior leaders, building strong, trusted relationships and developing a deep understanding of operational challenges. You’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering both operational and strategic people initiatives aligned with the business vision and strategy.

This is a varied and influential role, offering the opportunity to lead on complex employee relations matters, recruitment and workforce development, policy development, organisational change and people-focused projects.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence and welfare matters
  • Support and advise managers through investigations, hearings and change processes, ensuring consistency and legal compliance
  • Coach and influence managers to build effective people management and leadership capability
  • Lead and participate in meetings involving sensitive and complex information
  • Produce reports and analysis for senior leaders and wider organisational use

Employment Services

  • Lead on recruitment and selection processes, advising managers on legislation, best practice and organisational procedures
  • Develop recruitment, retention and workforce development strategies
  • Promote equality, diversity and inclusion across all People practices
  • Participate in Agenda for Change job evaluation and matching panels

Training, Organisational Development & Projects

  • Design and deliver training and development interventions linked to organisational needs
  • Contribute to workforce planning and organisational development initiatives
  • Support People-led projects, KPIs and continuous improvement activity

General

  • Ensure People policies and procedures reflect current legislation and organisational values
  • Maintain accurate HR records and HRIS data
  • Work closely with Finance on sickness absence management and reporting
  • Support staff survey analysis and action planning
  • Maintain confidentiality and data protection at all times

About You

You will be a credible, confident HR professional with significant experience in a generalist People role, ideally within a healthcare or complex organisational setting.

You will have:

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience, or CIPD Level 5–7
  • Strong, up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
  • Proven experience managing complex employee relations cases
  • Experience delivering training and supporting organisational change
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
  • Experience of Agenda for Change, HRIS systems and working in a healthcare or public sector environment is desirable.
