
Learning & Development Officer
Role Description
37.5-hour week Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:30pm
Our client is looking to recruit a Learning & Development Officer to join their team. This is a newly created role and will play a key role in supporting the design, delivery, and evaluation of effective learning and development initiatives within their business. The focus of this role is to equip staff with the knowledge, skills, and motivation needed to perform at their best and support the company’s growth and culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities –
- Identify training and development needs through job analysis, appraisals, and
consultation with managers and HR.
- Design, deliver, and evaluate a range of learning programmes, using face-to-face,
digital, and blended learning methods.
- Develop and maintain engaging training materials and resources for in-house
courses and e-learning.
- Coordinate and deliver effective induction programmes for new starters,
apprentices, and graduates.
- Monitor, review, and report on training effectiveness and employee progress,
using feedback, appraisals, and KPIs to measure return on investment.
- Support managers and colleagues with coaching, mentoring, and individual
learning plans.
- Ensure statutory and compliance training requirements are met and up to date.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and, where necessary, external training
providers to deliver high-quality learning solution.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities and contribute
to L&D communications.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and developments in learning and
development.
Person Specification –
- Proven experience in a learning and development, training, or HR role.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and
motivate learners at all levels.
- Analytical mindset, able to evaluate learning needs and measure training
effectiveness.
- Organised, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced
environment.
- Proficient in MS Office and comfortable with digital learning platforms.
- A collaborative team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- CIPD qualification or equivalent experience in L&D is desirable but not essential.
- Commitment to personal and professional development.
