HR Manager
Role Description
Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Working 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home.
Our client, a fabulous charitable organisation based in central London are looking to recruit a HR manager to join their business. This is an amazing opportunity to be an integral member of the team in an organisation that really gives back.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
- Participate and manage any disciplinary processes, as required
- Advise and give guidance to Executive Directors and line managers
- Manage the recruitment and selection process – end to end
- Support current and future business needs through development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the business
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
- Maintain the Company benefits program
- Support the Finance team to ensure payroll adjustments are processed correctly
- Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs
- Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management
- Manage on-boarding and off-boarding processes
- Support the Executive Directors in organisation change
- Manage the Investors in People and Customer Service Excellence processes
- Manage and maintain the HR Management System
- Support and review the annual salary review and annual benchmarking process
- Attend and support the HR and Renumeration Committee and act as note taker
- Attend and support the Consumer Duty Committee
- Attend and support the Environmental Impact Committee
- Manage the HR risk register and HR training plan
- Manage HR related subject access requests when required
- Maintain personnel records for staff and Non-Executive Directors
- Nurture a positive working environment
- Promote employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives
- Manage long term sickness absence
- Manage the Disability Confident Employer scheme
Health and Safety
- Manage annual H&S Risk Assessments, COSHH assessments for the organisation.
- Manage and review an annual Safety Statement and policies
- Manage the Annual Fire Risk Assessment
- Manage and monitor health & safety checks and fire alarm testing are completed within agreed timescales. ·
- Manage the online health & safety training portal and ensure all staff remain up to date with H&S knowledge
- Manage all health & safety accreditations including First Aid ensure compliance
- Promote Health & Safety knowledge and safe working practices
Facilities
- Overseeing maintenance operations to that facilities are clean, safe, and functional
- Ensuring compliance by adhering to health and safety regulations
- Addressing urgent issues and dealing with the consequences
- Manage the hygiene operative (staff)
- Manage external service providers and contractors
This role requires the post holder to travel to other jurisdictions on occasion to meet business needs.
Person Specification
Education
- A degree in Human Resources Management or CIPD qualified level 5 or equivalent proven experience.
- Additional Health and Safety qualification is an advantage.
Experience and Skills
- Substantial experience in a HR Manager role or similar
- Experience in recruitment, employee relations and performance management
- Knowledge of Employment Law and best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risk
- Strong communication and relationship skills with staff at all levels and manage employee relationships effectively
- Capability to identify, address and resolve employee issues and conflicts ensuring compliance with HR policies and best practice
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
