About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and strategic HR Director to lead and deliver their people strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving a high-performance culture. Based in Bexleyheath, Kent, this is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping, developing, and executing a comprehensive human capital strategy that supports continued growth and operational excellence.

As a trusted partner to the Managing Director and senior leadership team, you will oversee all aspects of Human Resources, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, learning and development, workforce planning, and compliance with UK employment legislation.

This role offers the opportunity to influence organisational design, strengthen employee engagement, and position the business as an employer of choice within the industry.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive people strategy aligned with organisational structure, culture, customer needs, and business goals.
  • Partner with senior management to drive business success through a clear, actionable people plan.
  • Provide expert counsel on organisational design and workforce planning.
  • Utilise HR analytics and workforce data to inform strategic decision-making.

Talent & Employer Brand

  • Design and execute a robust talent acquisition strategy to attract and retain top talent.
  • Support managers in identifying future skills needs and succession planning.
  • Shape and evolve the employer brand to ensure the organisation is recognised as a preferred employer in the sector.

Employee Engagement & Development

  • Implement employee engagement strategies informed by survey feedback and best practice frameworks.
  • Develop cost-effective, value-added HR initiatives that enhance engagement and retention.
  • Lead performance management and learning & development initiatives that drive capability and growth.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure full compliance with UK employment law and internal HR policies.
  • Proactively review and influence policy changes in line with evolving business objectives.
  • Promote a safe and compliant working environment in line with health and safety legislation.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Prioritise workload to meet business and project needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Undertake delegated duties within the overall scope of the role.
  • Travel nationally and internationally as required.
  • Drive on company business where necessary.

About You

You are a strategic thinker and experienced HR leader with the credibility and capability to operate at executive level. You bring strong commercial awareness, data-driven insight, and a passion for building engaging, high-performing workplaces.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in HR, Business, or related field.
  • CIPD Level 7 qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Proven leadership and strategic planning capability.
  • Demonstrable commitment to continuous professional development.
