Energy Procurement Manager Europe

Our client, based in Dartford is looking for an energy procurement manager Europe to join their fast-paced global business. This role is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career and join an established and ever-expanding business within an exciting industry.

Key Duties –

• Provide energy procurement consulting services to each assigned client; including, but not limited to: RFP development, market assessment, risk management, strategy development, contract negotiation, contract management budget creation, non-energy charges, all additional renewable energy products and product management
• Administer the mechanics of the energy supply contracts, check site lists and suppliers’ energy prices, support the account management and new business development teams, support the bill checking team and report to clients on exposure, saving, cost variances, update all relevant databases etc. 
• Independently develop and maintain contacts within a client organization
• Develop and maintain contacts within the existing energy supplier and developer network and always look to bring on new suppliers to add to the network
• Demonstrate an authoritative and consultative approach that builds support within the client organization
• Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of regulatory markets across Europe
• Provide support to sales and new business development on procurement and energy markets
• Meet regularly with clients, including in-person visits and teleconferences
• Communicate with local distribution companies, and energy suppliers to gather timely, accurate, and complete energy market intelligence
• Explain and educate clients and internal teams on difficult energy market dynamics and metrics
• Assist in development of new energy procurement products and marketing materials

Qualifications & Experience Needed –

• Degree level – Economics, Finance, Maths, Business or engineering.
• Ability to speak Fluent German & English.
• Minimum three years of energy procurement experience, either buying or selling retail energy.
• Ability to create, manage and run energy supply contract tenders
• Working knowledge of non-energy costs, utility licensing rules, regulations and tariffs; 
• Experience in a client facing role working directly with customers/suppliers.
• Utility experience or knowledge of utility bill calculations preferred.
• Experience with internal Energy Supply Management workflow and platforms preferred.

Essential Skills –

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Project management skills – ability to manage competing client/supplier demands, liaise with energy suppliers and adhere to internal quality standards often to tight deadlines
• At least Intermediate MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skill level required
• Solid presentation development and delivery skills
• Must be detail oriented, flexible, adaptable and self-motivated
• Ability to handle deadlines and high stress situations
• Must have Passion and determination
• Occasional travel to client locations may be required
